Teleconferencing Marketing?
By: John Skorczewski
Hello,
Christopher Reeves, who we all know as Superman, died last night at age 52 of heart failure.
I had the distinct pleasure of hearing Mr. Reeves speak on several occasions at different conferences over the years as he courageously and effectively
spoke out in advocacy of spinal cord research and stem cell research. His work has truly influenced the world for the better and he will be missed by everyone.
Last Week I talked to you about the future of pop-up marketing. This week
I want to talk to you about teleconferencing and how you can use it to increase sales.
What is a teleconference?
A teleconference is like a seminar held over the phone. It's where a bunch of people call in, and you talk to all of them at once
using some sort of teleconferencing service (which I'll discuss later).
How can you use this to market your products? There are many ways, I'll touch on a few to get you started today.
Say you have a newsletter like this one. How easy would it be to announce to your list that you're holding a free teleconference
in a week or so?
Pretty easy!
The conference doesn't have to be anything special. You can talk for 20 minutes or a half an hour about your products
and then open the line up to questions.
Don't just try to shill your products. Create a presentation that has value to the listener. For instance, we sell
our very successful Submission-Spider Search Engine Submission Software
so I might hold a conference discussing advanced search engine submission techniques.
Then at the end of the conference, I might offer a discount on our software to all the listeners.
I've actually been meaning to do just that, but I have too many projects in the air at the moment, so it's been pushed
back till the first quarter of next year.
You might think it's hard to set up a teleconference but it's not! Here's a link to a company that offers totally
free teleconferences of up to 96 people. You just give them your name and email address and they immediately
give you a dial in telephone number that you can use to hold your conference.
Free Teleconferencing Service
You just give the phone number to your clients and they call in. It's as easy as that!
There are lots of more advanced strategies that I will talk about in the future, like recording your free conference
call and then selling it as a downloadable seminar...that sort of thing.
But in the mean time, think about putting on a simple teleconference yourself. I think you'll be amazed how many
orders you will drum up using this technique.
That's all for this week. See you next Monday!
