Targeted Web Site Traffic - Found Right Next Door!
By: John Skorczewski
Hello,
Good morning! Hey look, I published an article for you two weeks in a row! I think I'm back into the swing of things now!
Things are finally starting to settle down around here and I can get back to the really important stuff...like writing this
article for you.
In Last Week's Issue I talked to you
about f'ree press exposure and a service that lets you send out f'ree press releases. This week I want to talk to you about often
overlooked web site promotion techniques found right around the corner.
Whenever someone wants to promote a web site online, the first things that usually come to mind are the proven,
time honored techniques....search engine submission, link exchange,
joint ventures, pay per clicks, and any of the 30 or so tactics found in my latest book Cyber Wealth...
Most of those marketing tactics focus on getting your message out to the entire world...for instance if you get your site listed at Google, that's going to attract people
to your web site from all over the world...from Chicago to China, from Indiana to India... from...well....you get the idea.
Most people are so focused on those types of tactics that they forget all about the opportunities right outside their own front doors.
I'm talking about local marketing. You can drum up a heck of a lot of site traffic by promoting your site in your own
town, city, or local area...and since very few people are doing this, it can be much easier for you to do.
What are some ways to promote your site locally? Here's a few...
- Local newspapers....small town newspapers love to do special interest stories on local business people...especially ones
that seem "high tech" and your web site certainly fits that bill.
Also local newspaper advertising can be bought very cheaply.
- Participate in your local better business bureau and/or local chamber of commerce (and don't forget to hand out lots
of your business cards with your site URL on them).
- Joint venture with other local businesses. Do you run a web design service? Contact local attorneys and tax accountants
and offer to give them a nice cut of all the business they send your way. Their clients need web sites and are used
to listening to them for advice...take advantage of that.
- Sponsor a local childrens sports team.
- Put up fliers on public bulletin boards.
These are just a few ideas. I challenge you to sit down tonight and think of other ways to promote your site locally...once you
start to think locally, you'll come up with a ton of ideas that are easy and cheap to do...and they really will increase your business.
That's all for this week. See you next Monday!
