Search Engine Optimization

Hello,

If you celebrate it, Happy Easter to you!

This weeks article is on Link Popularity and why it’s important for your web site.

Many of the major search engines will rank your site, in part, by the number of other sites that link to you. They call this your Link Popularity.

Those Search Engines figure:

“Hey, if lots of other people are linking to this persons site, it must be a pretty good site! Lets rank it higher on our search engine!”

So you want as many people as possible to link to you.

How do you do this? The old fashioned Link exchange seems to work best, but it takes a lot of time and effort.

You probably know what a link exchange is (it’s where you find other sites that are similar to yours, you contact the owner and offer to put a link to their site on your site in exchange for them putting a link to your site on their site).

Some people use tools like LinkwizardPro.com to submit their sites to thousands of link pages in an attempt to increase their link popularity.

I don’t know what the best way is, but however you do it, you should try to increase the number of other people linking to you.

Posting messages on guestbooks and message boards with my page URL seems to work good for me.

Giving out a web award that people must link back to you in order to receive is also an easy way to increase your link popularity.

Our Submission-Spider software has a great link popularity tool that shows you how many people are linking to your site.

Download the free trial of the Submission-Spider today and give the Link Popularity Tool a whirl to see how many people are linking to you. http://www.Submission-Spider.com

That’s all for this weeks article. See you next Monday!
