How To Get More Traffic With Content
By: John Elder
Hello,
Good morning! I hope you enjoyed last weeks Labor Day Holiday...I know I did!
In Last Week's Issue I talked to you
about getting t'argeted traffic to your site by promoting your site locally. This week I want to talk to you about using content
to get site traffic...
It's no secret that the Search Engines like to list sites that have a ton of content. Why? Because people
use search engines to find stuff (content)...and the search engines want to give those people what they're
looking for.
I like to use the example of two Local Realtor web sites. Web site number one is nothing more than a picture
of the Realtor's office and a phone number. Web site number two is a huge content driven site. It has listings
of local houses for sale, listings of local banks where you can get loans, a discussion board filled with posts
of people asking questions and getting answers about local real estate etc etc etc.
If you were a search engine, which web site would you list first? NUMBER TWO!
It's simple, the web site that has more content will get a better search engine ranking...and therefore much
more free site traffic.
The problem is, most people don't want to put in the time to add content to their site, or they aren't creative
enough to write content like articles and stuff like that...
Here's where this week's article comes in. There are a ton of places online where you can get free content
related to just about anything. These places are called ezine article databases.
What happens is this...people write articles about anything and everything, then they submit the articles
to these databases. People are free to post those articles on their web site, as long as they give credit to
the author.
You as a site owner win because you can quickly and easily get a ton of rich content...the writer of the article
wins because you give them credit...which is like free advertising to them....the search engines win because
they can list your content rich site....and people using the search engines win because you've created a
useful resource that they are looking for.
It's a win/win/win/win situation...
One of my favorite article directories is: http://www.ezinearticles.com/ though you can find them
all over the place with a little searching at Google.com
Check it out...make a goal for yourself to add one new article to your web site each day...in no time flat you'll
have a massively content rich web site that will pull traffic like a magnet.
That's all for this week. See you next Monday!
