More Google Plumbing For Your Site....
By: John Skorczewski
Hello,
I hope you remembered to set your clock forward this weekend! I'm happy now...as I sit here
and type this newsletter, it's just before 6 a.m. and still dark out (thanks to the time change).
For the last few weeks it's been sunny and bright in the early morning when I write to you,
and that's just not how I like things!
In Last Week's IssueI talked about the marketing
funnel. Hopefully you sketched out your own marketing funnel.
This week I want to talk to you about Google.
Since Search Engine Submission is such
an important part of Internet Marketing (and since I built my company around building software
to help you get your site listed on those search engines) I tend to talk about them a lot in this
ezine.
And since Google is by and far the most important search engine, I tend to talk about them
the most (I just released an eBook on the subject that you can get for free below).
The fact is, if you're interested in getting search engine traffic (and you should be) you really
need to focus your attention on Google.
And so this week I want to give you access to an in depth article that was
recently written about Google.
So what? Well, sure...there are lot's of articles written on Google...but this one's different.
Why? Because....you may have heard me say in the past, that Google has over 100 different
factors it looks at when they rank a web site...nobody ever knew what any of those factors really
were, but everyone (including yours truly) had an opinion....
Some were right...most were REALLY wrong....but that's all changed...well, at least
a little.
You see....Google just applied for a patent for some search technology....and you see...when
you apply for a patent, you have to give a lot of info about whatever you're patenting!
And so now...FINALLY...we have a more concrete window into some of the inner workings
of Google...FINALLY we can start to really create ways to improve rankings based on more
than guess work and trial and error....
You can actually read the patent application itself that lists all this cool info here.
As you might expect...it's pretty heavy, mostly hard to understand, reading.
Instead, head over to SEOMoz
and read the excellent article they've put together.
For those of you who really want the nitty gritty on Google and how to boost your web site's ranking there, this is the article for you.
That's all for this week. See you next Monday!
