Search Engine Submission By Example
By: John Alexander
Hi,
This week I want to talk to you about the actual submission process
for our little example web site.
First off, which search engines should you submit to, and should you
do it manually or use software?
If you haven't downloaded my free teleseminar on this here
I recommend you do...I go into greater detail about this there.
You should only submit to the main 15-20 Major Search Engines. Like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
Don't bother submitting to any others.
Why? Because those top 15-20 search engines are responsible for something like 95% of all
Internet Traffic. And submitting to thousands of small no-name search engines can actually hurt
your chances of getting listed at the major search engines (I go into more detail on that in my
free teleseminar, download and listen to it for more).
Plus, those 15-20 major search engines power the databases for many smaller search engines
you may have heard of like hotbot, excite, etc. So getting listed in the major search engines will get
you listed by default in hundreds of other smaller (but reputable) search engines.
Should you use software to submit your site? Absolutely. It will save you a huge amount of
time and you'll know for sure that you're doing it right.
Some people say that it's better to do it manually, that the search engines don't like submission
tools. I've been a leader in this industry for 8 years, and I can tell you first hand, that's simply not
true. The search engines don't care, so use submission software.
You should submit your main web page, and a site map page that has links to all the pages
of your site. Submit your site one time, wait three weeks and submit again. This is a good start.
Of course, I recommend our Submission-Spider submission software (and I know I'm impartial but I truly
believe it's the best tool out there), but you can try Web Position Gold too...it's ok but it costs
a HUGE amount more and people tell me it's really hard for them to figure out.
Our Submission-Spider regularly costs $99 but it's
on sale this week at SubmissionPro.com for only
$39.90
I highly recommend it...it comes with year long money back guarantee so if it doesn't drive tons
of traffic to your web site we'll give you your m o n e y back.
More to come next week...stay tuned.
