Hello,
Last week I gave you my solution for the Summer Sales Slowdown that we all face...
This week I want to expand on that and get more specific. I want to tell you my formula for sending a successful email marketing campaign.
First I want to thank everyone who took advantage of the special offer I sent you last Wednesday. An unbelievable amount of you
took advantage of the special offer to get our award winning Submission-Spider Search Engine Submission Software (regularly priced at $99) for only $9.99
Everyone that purchased also got a free copy of my wildly popular eBook "How I Sold My Web Site To A Publicly Traded Company".
As a special surprise, I've also mailed everyone who took advantage of the offer a letter giving you another surprise free gift. Look for it in the mail any day now!
If any of you didn't get my special offer or didn't have time to buy the software and get the free gifts, you can still take advantage of the offer for the
next 2 days by o'rdering secure here: O'rder Here
The campaign was wildly successful and I want to talk to you more about it today.
There are several steps that I go through when sending out an email marketing campaign like that one I sent to you last week.
First, you need a list that you email to frequently and who know's who you are. In this case, it was the subscriber
list for this ezine. If you don't produce your own ezine (about whatever it is you sell online) you really need to start one
immediately.
Second, I always send out a pre-email. In this case it was in last Monday's WebPromotion-Weekly. It stated that
I would be sending out a special message on Wednesday and told you to look out for it. This is an important step.
Third, I created the sales letter (more specifically I used the same tried and true sales letter I use every summer - it's
the second highest pulling sales letter I've ever written - but I will always continue to test different versions of it to try and
make it better).
Fourth, I sent out the letter when I said I would...trivial but important enough to list as a step.
Fifth, I waited 2 days and sent out a follow-up email. Most people leave out this step. The follow-up letter, this year,
pulled in an extra 15% more sales...that's 15% more sales that I wouldn't have had if I didn't send out a
simple follow-up. The follow-up just reminded people of the offer and extended it for 2 days.
Sixth...this is a new step, I've sent another follow-up (in the form of this newsletter) recapping the offer and
extending it for two more days...email me in two days if you'd like to know how much it pulled.
Seventh, follow-up via postal mail with all the people who purchased your product thanking them for taking
advantage of the special offer and giving them some sort of unexpected free gift.
These are my basic 7 steps to successful email marketing, I recommend you use them. And also, please
feel free to use the special offer I sent you last Wednesday as a template for sending your own special offer.
That sales letter pulls gangbusters, tweak it to fit your own needs and use it! Let me know how well
it worked for you!
That's all for this week. See you next Monday!
