A ClickBank Selling Strategy Guaranteed To Boost Sales
By: John Skorczewski
Hello {!name},
I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving...mine was great!
In Last Week's Issue I talked about search
engine mechanics that will get your site a better ranking.
This week I want to talk to you about a selling technique that can boost your income.
I know last week I said that I'd talk about other OnPage and OffPage factors that would boost your search engine
ranking this week....but with the holiday season coming up I thought it might be a little more appropriate to discuss a selling
technique, or strategy (if you will) that can help boost your income.
This is a strategy that's a little bit involved, but not too much. I call it "The ClickBank Strategy" clever huh? Yeah...well, I'm
still a little drowsy from all that Turkey...my creative juices aren't flowing this morning so if you can think of a better name for it,
please let me know!
Ok...everyone knows about Clickbank. It's an online payment processor and affiliate marketing system that allows you
to let other people sell your products as affiliates...or allows you to sell other people's products and get a commission as
an affiliate yourself.
Clickbank is geared towards digital products....downloadable software, ebooks...things like that.
The great thing about Clickbank is that it shows you what the current bestselling products are. Simple go Here
and you can search by category and see what products are selling like hotcakes...
That page will also show you what kind of a commission that particular product is paying.
So if you have a web site and ezine about Dog Training...you can search on Clickbank for an eBook that teaches Dog Training, see
how much of a commission it's paying...then sign up as an affiliate through Clickbank, recommend that eBook to your list of ezine
subscribers...and make a tidy profit.
Generally the company selling the product has done all the work creating a sales letter-like web site, developing the product, testing
it etc.
Ok...so I haven't told you anything you don't already know.
Here's where the strategy comes into play.
First...do some research on that site that I mentioned. Find the hottest selling products that offer the highest commission that have
something to do with your industry. This strategy goes on the assumption that you've listened to me in the past and have
started your own ezine...and have a nice subscriber base built up (100 to 5,000 subscribers).
Next, sign up as an affiliate...get your affiliate URL.
Now...let's pretend that the product (an eBook for instance) costs and pays a 50% commission. That means for every person that buys the eBook
from your affiliate URL....you'll earn .50
Be sure that you have bought the product yourself...if it's an eBook, make sure that you've
read it and can truly recommend it. Don't ever...I mean EVER try to pawn off crap to your subscribers.
Ok...here's where it gets tricky. ...... You already know the product is popular...the Clickbank marketplace site told you that it's a hot
seller... and you know it's been selling very well for .
What you do is offer the eBook to your subscriber list for half price!
How can you do this? Easy....explain everything to your subscriber list. Make the explanation your sales pitch.
Explain that this is the hottest selling eBook on (lets say) Dog Training at ClickBank. Tell them that you bought
a copy yourself and read it and feel like it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Tell them it's so good that you immediately signed up as an affiliate. Tell them that as an affiliate you earn a 50%
commission for everyone that buys the eBook from your affiliate URL.
Here's the sneaky part....(Did I mention that this is sneaky?) Tell them that the eBook is SO GOOD, that they HAVE to
read it....now...Immediately...TODAY! Tell them that it's so freaky fantastically wonderful that if they order today from your
affiliate URL, you'll GIVE them your commission!
You earn 50% commission...tell them you'll sign over your commission to them if they order today.
That's quite a sales pitch! That's pretty damn compelling, isn't it?
But wait! Where's the profit?!
I'm glad you asked. Explain to them that Clickbank takes 45 days to process affiliate checks and therefore you won't have
the money to pay them until then. Explain to them that in order to get their rebate, all they have to do is print out a simple rebate
form (that you'll direct them to) and send it to you after 45 days from the date of their purchase.
At which time you will immediately cut them a check for .50 (or whatever the 50% ends up being).
This strategy is beautiful for 2 reasons.....first, many people won't ever get around to printing out and sending in the rebate form.
They'll mean to...but never quite get around to it....you know how it goes!
Second...even if every single person requests the rebate, you still make out ahead. Why? Because let's say this whole
strategy creates 100 new customers.
You now have 100 names and addresses that you can market to on the back end! And we all know that the real profit is on
the back end! Even if you only break even on the first sale...you can continue to sell other things to these people....forever.
If you've been reading this eZine for a while, then you have already created a backend system that automatically sends out
timed email and regular mail sales letters to your past customers. This ClickBank strategy, if nothing else, will create an
avalanche of new prospects to insert into your back end system.
So give it a try!
That's all for this week. See you next Monday!
