Hi Mike,
There's a lot of things you need to do to "tweak" your website for good search engine ranking. Unfortunatly good rankings aren't as easy to get as they used to be back when I started designing websites.
One thing you should concentrate on when starting a new website is trading some links. This will get some traffic in, and Google in particular takes note of how many websites link to yours. It will also get you listed in search engines quicker.
Swap links with companies that are similar to yours, but not the same. For example, maybe some game review sites, game fansites, etc. There'll be a tonne of them out there.
Maybe try and get your site listed in cheat directories or something like that.
