And The Winner Is...
By: John Skorczewski
Hello,
In Last Week's Issue I asked you what you'd like to see in this newsletter during the next year.
Well, the response was like an avalanche! You overwhelmingly voted for traffic tips as opposed to how to make your site better at selling stuff.
It seems that the common opinion is "so what if my site stinks...if I can get 10 million people to come,
someone's bound to buy what I'm selling!"
So...traffic tips it is....
I want to take a minute to thank everyone who emailed me. I'm sorry that I haven't been able
to respond to each of you, I was overwhelmed by responses!
So traffic tips...where to start..well, at the beginning I suppose.
If you've been reading this rag for a while you know all about me and my background. I developed
and sell one of the Internet's more popular Search Engine Submission tools...the Submission-Spider
from Submission-Spider.com
So it's only natural that we begin our traffic tips era with a long discussion on search engine submission.
In my opinion, bang for your buck-wise, there's simply no better traffic generating method
than correct search engine submission.
Mind you, you have to do it correctly or you may see no traffic at all.
One very common thing I see...nearly daily is this:
A company focuses on getting listed at the search engines under their company name.
They buy my software and use it, and in no time at all they are listed in the very
first spot at all the major search engines under their company name.
They're very...very happy. Until they realize they aren't getting any site traffic!
They always come to me with the same question....why?
"We're listed number one!" they say....
Yes, but they're listed number one under a keyword that no one searches for!
THAT, my friend, makes all the difference and is lesson number one.
Before you start any search engine submission campaign, you must determine which
keywords to list your site under.
You have to focus on just a few at the beginning...and only on terms that get
searched for many many times.
But how do you find those keywords? Well, you could spend a lot of time doing tedious
manual legwork, compiling data etc...or you could use my Submission-Spider.com software
that has a keyword tool that will give you that information on any given keyword
in a matter of seconds.
Frankly...at the price we sell it for...it's a no brainer as many of you know.
Picking the right keywords is all important. As I said, you should initially focus
on only a few words....and craft your entire site around those few keywords.
In the coming weeks I'll discuss exactly how to optimize your site for those
specific keywords....
In the world of site traffic...there are tons of ways to drive lots of traffic to your
site...but most entail spending lots of money. So I'm going to focus, at least initially,
on the cheaper, low-cost, and free traffic strategies that have worked for me in the past
(and that's why we start with search engine submission...).
That's all for this week. See you next Monday!
