Hello,
This weeks article is going to be a little short, as I’m out of town and writing this on the fly, I do apologize for that.
Today I want to talk about autoresponders.
Several weeks ago I told you that most people don’t buy a thing the first time they visit your site. It takes
several exchanges with a person before you can turn them into a customer usually.
So it’s very important to collect a persons email address and if possible their first name, so that you can follow up with them in an attempt to create a relationship.
How do you collect that information?
Give them something for free in exchange for them giving you their email address and first name.
I’ve used this tactic for years and it works great.
I always offer something digital because it costs me nothing to reproduce and offer as a free download.
For instance, my web site www.market-tek.com offers my free ebook “Web Promotion 101″.
Another great freebie you can give away is a free report that relates to whatever your site is about.
This is where autoresponders come into play.
All a person has to do is send a blank email to your autoresponder and it will automatically forward via email whatever article you want to give away for free.
Check your web hosting provider. Many offer unlimited free autoresponders with your web hosting account.
If they don’t, you can buy these all over the place for very small fees (like $3-$5 per month).
I use my own autoresponders, but check out these guys:
www.aweber.com
They have both free and low cost options to choose from.
That’s all for this week.
See you next Monday!
